See your link before you share it
A link with a good title, description and image gets far more clicks than a bare address. Enter a page to see its share card and what to fix.
What it checks
- The card most apps build from og:title, og:description and og:image
- Whether the share image actually loads, and is served over https
- twitter:card for the large image card on X
- Titles and descriptions long enough to be cut off
- The meta description and canonical link search engines use
Questions
I fixed my tags, but LinkedIn still shows the old preview
Apps cache previews. LinkedIn's Post Inspector and Facebook's Sharing Debugger let you refresh them; X refreshes on its own within about a week.
What size should the image be?
1200 by 630 pixels works everywhere, as a PNG or JPEG under about 5 MB, with the important part away from the edges.
Does this use my page's JavaScript?
No, and neither do most share apps: they read the HTML your server sends. Tags added only by JavaScript often don't show up in shares.
